About PassLog

About PassLog

PassLog exists to keep vessel knowledge from disappearing when crew change. It helps maritime professionals capture a real handover and turn it into a signed record.

A pass is the transfer of authority and knowledge. A log is the vessel record. PassLog combines both: the record of what was passed between crew when responsibility changed hands.

The product is focused on one job: the handover. It is not a maintenance suite, inventory system, or certificate tracker.

PassLog starts with technical handovers because they are detailed and high-risk, then expands role by role for captain, deck, interior, ETO, ferry, merchant, yacht, and offshore crews.

The design is calm, direct, and accountable: clear language, evidence capture, timestamps, signatures, severity states, and one PDF people can actually read.

Principles

Clear, accountable, practical

Clear

Simple words win

The handover should be easy to read before the next crew member starts work.

Accountable

Both sides sign

Outgoing confirms accuracy. Incoming confirms they have read and understood.

Maritime

Built around crew change

Rotation, watch notes, open tasks, defects, procedures, and vessel-specific context.

Principles

Why PassLog exists

Crew changes are rushed

Important knowledge is often passed verbally, in messages, or inside one person's routine.

Evidence gets scattered

Photos, supplier notes, documents, and open tasks sit in different places instead of one record.

The next person needs clarity

A good handover says what is open, what was checked, what needs watching, and who to call.

The record should last

The signed PDF gives crew and managers something clear to read, file, and search later.
